NSC State of the Response Report

NSC created the State of the Response: State Actions to Address the Pandemic report to better understand the safety implications of the states’ response to the century’s biggest threat to workplace safety.

The report assesses states’ efforts in five key areas based on recommendations from the SAFER effort, including:

  • Employer guidelines
  • Testing
  • Contact tracing
  • Mental health and substance use
  • Roadway safety

Concerning Results

The State of the Response report rates states on each of the areas above as well as an overall result. The overall results show:

  • 12 states received an ‘on-track’ rating
  • 28 states and the District of Columbia received a ‘lagging’ rating
  • 10 states received an ‘off-track’ rating

See where your state ranks.

Upon sign-up, you will receive an email from feedback@nsc.org with a link to download the report. If you do not receive the email within a few minutes, first check your junk mail folder or email us at feedback@nsc.org.
